Chef Ben Rosen brings a decade of dedicated culinary and hospitality experience to his role as Sous Chef. A testament to his developing skill and creativity, Ben proudly won the 2025 Alabama Seafood Cook-Off while representing The Depot, affirming the restaurant's position among the state's top culinary destinations.

Ben's culinary journey began in Florence, Alabama, where, while pursuing a degree in Music Education, he rose through the ranks at Legends Steakhouse. He developed a deep appreciation for the entire dining experience, later honing his skills in organizational and leadership roles as a Kitchen Manager.

After a brief industry hiatus, his passion for cooking was powerfully reignited when he moved to Opelika to care for family. Preparing meals for loved ones every night reminded him of food's true calling as a source of comfort and connection.

Joining The Depot, Ben quickly proved his technical ability, advancing from Lead Grill Cook and Sauté Cook to Chef de Partie. Now in his role as Sous Chef, Ben partners with Chef Walker to ensure operational excellence, bringing his precision, creativity, and dedication to every dish he prepares.
